Hello! Welcome to the MBSR Austin site! ​I offer the 8-week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program as well as shorter mindfulness classes both In Person (when it is relatively safe for high-risked individuals of different households to gather indoors) and Live Online. Travis County's Covid-19 Risk-Based Guidelines are followed for In Person classes.

Spring 2022 MBSR classes are open for registration but have limited seats. If you want to get into the Spring MBSR program but missed the required Intro class, Please contact me as soon as possible to schedule a time for a one-on-one session.

Do you wonder if the MBSR Online Live works as well as the MBSR In Person?
​​When the pandemic started in Spring 2020, I had to cancel the MBSR course that was about to start. With the freed up time, with a team of 11 other MBSR teachers from around the world and with the guidance of two MBSR teacher trainers, I explored how to 'translate' the 'essences' of the MBSR curriculum to an Online environment without losing anything in translation. It was important that Online MBSR not be just a necessary substitute or the next best thing to the In Person MBSR but the real thing! At the same time, we had to guard against the temptation to introduce many fancy features the Online environment offers that are unnecessary and irrelevant for teaching the essences of the MBSR curriculum. The online adaptation had to be no less, and no more than the MBSR taught in person. After 5 weeks of creative experimentation by playing teacher and student online with one another, each of us could clearly see that Online Live MBSR and In Person MBSR can be 'equal but different'.  Each mode has advantages and disadvantages. I love teaching the essences of the MBSR curriculum, appreciating and respecting the way Jon Kabat-Zinn had originally designed them, and the way it has evolved over the years.
